Toon Dook international Animation festival

Animation that connects. Stories that move.

ToonDook Festival is a young but bold platform for animation lovers, born in Kyrgyzstan and open to the world. We bring together films, creators, and audiences who want something real — fresh voices, daring ideas, and conversations that don’t end when the credits roll.

Why This Festival Exists

Central Asia has stories the world hasn’t heard yet. ToonDook was created to give them a screen, a stage, and an audience — while also welcoming global talent to inspire, challenge, and collaborate.

Why We Created This Festival

In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, animation stands at the forefront of creative innovation. Yet many bold, original, and independent voices in animation remain unheard. This festival was founded to empower those voices — to offer a global stage where underrepresented artists and visionary creators can share their unique perspectives, challenge norms, and inspire the world through their imagination.

What to Expect

  • Screenings of both competition and out-of-competition animations.
  • Two competition categories: International Shorts & Kyrgyz Animated Films.
  • Masterclasses, talks, and our signature 24-hour Animation Challenge.
  • A creative hub at Technopark Bishkekwhere filmmakers, students, and dreamers meet.

Our Purpose

ToonDook is here to show that animation isn’t just for studios or big platforms. It’s a tool for expression, for culture, for asking better questions. We want to give space to stories that don’t always get told — and the people who are ready to tell them.
